Welcome to Goshen Township

This is the Williams Corner Area Water Tank which is located on the northeast side of Deerfield Road in Goshen Township. It is a 2,000,000 gallon fluted column elevated water storage tank that once placed in service will increase the water pressure to some low pressure areas that surround the tank and also assist in the conveyance of water to the northern sections of the counties water system. The tank is 128'-3" to the high water level (elevation: 1020) and has a 96' diameter shaft with over 125,000 square feet of total painted steel surfaces. There were over 700 tons of steel used in the water tank, supporting tower, and foundation.
Over 210 vertical feet of 16" diameter steel pipes fill and drain the tank. A 4-color exterior paint color scheme was carefully designed so the finished water tank would blend in with the surrounding environment and also match the existing Clough Tank.
Caldwell Tanks, Inc (CTI), of Louisville, KY was awarded the construction contract for this water tank on March 26th 2008, by the Board of County Commissioners, and work began on the tank April 28th 2008. As the fabricator, CTI submitted our tank to the Steel Tank Institute-Steel Plate Fabricators Association where it was selected as the 2009 Tank of the year in the Elevated Steel Tank category. The end of construction is near and plans are to have it on-line and ready for service for the peak demand periods of the year. The Gaynor Tank is scheduled for repainting in 2012 and the Goshen Road Tank in 2020. Current plans would be to include "Goshen Township" logo on the repaints.
