Trustees Recognize a family of Boy Scoutt "Eagles"

The Goshen Township Trustees proudly honored a family of Eagle Scouts at their August 12, 2009 meeting.

Brothers Jarron, Justin, and Jaden Tallbot followed in their father Jeff's footsteps in 2009, with all three earning the prestigious honor of "Eagle Scout." This is a rare honor, and more rare et for three members of one family to achieve this cornerstone in one year!

Trustee Mike Keeley read a speech and presented two of the three young men with certificates of recognition. The speech read as follows:

"Becoming an Eagle Scout is a benchmark of success for any boy scout. It's a prestigious honor so rare, just 5% of the more than 900 thousand Boy Scouts in the United States achieved it last year.

Do the math and you'll learn that means just 45 thousand -293- scouts achieved Eagle status last year. Of them, 3 were not only from Goshen, but they were from the same household.

Brothers Justin, Jaden, and Jarron all achieved the honor of Eagle Scout this year. If you look at their sashes, you'll see that these young men didn't just earn Eagle, they went above and beyond the requirements. . In order to become an Eagle, one must earn 21 merit badges.  Justin has 29 badges. Jaden has 27 badges, and Jarron has 22.

Each of the three brothers also had to complete a leadership service project. Justin helped improve recreational facilities for the Butler County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. Jason built hardware that assisted workers from the Clermont County MRDD. And Jarron teamed with Cincinnati Therapeutic Horsemanship to remove and replace rotting fence.

Eagle Scout is nothing new for this family though. Even dad Jeff Talbot is also an Eagle Scout.

Tonight the Goshen Township Trustees are proud to recognize and applaud Justin, Jaden, and Jarron Talbot for their commitment to self and community. Your accomplishment is noted and appreciated.

Good job, gentlemen!"
